Growth Prospects

  • Strategic Initiatives: The Company has adopted a new go-to-market strategy to support greater breadth and depth of offering & geographical reach, and faster-growing markets.
  • Acquisition Benefits: Several acquisitions, such as Reflektive, PDT Global and Bridge, which were completed during H1 FY21, got fully integrated and made a significant contribution to FY21 total revenue. Meanwhile, the acquisition of GP Strategies completed on 15 October 2021, led to an improvement in operational performance.

Key Risks

  • Weak Financial Position: LTG has witnessed an unfavourable turnaround from delivering net cash in FY20 to reporting a net debt during FY21.

Business Outlook

LTG has ended FY21 on a good note and sustained momentum across the business, with high-quality earnings from SaaS and long-term contracts. The acquisition strategy of LTG is focused on two key aspects - expanding the addressable market and focusing more on cross-selling opportunities. With the acquisition of GP Strategies, the Company has upgraded its margin expectations and targets an EBIT margin of around 12% during FY22. Meanwhile, the enlarged group aims to serve a much larger proportion of the £100 billion addressable markets. Overall, the Company remained confident regarding significant progress in FY22, driven by several acquisition deals completed in FY21.

Please note markets are trading in a highly volatile zone currently due to certain macro-economic and geopolitical tensions prevailing. Therefore, it is prudent to follow a cautious approach while investing.

Considering the solid growth in dividend payments, upgraded profitability guidance, acquisition benefits, strong top-line business growth, and support from the valuation as done using the above method, we have given a “Speculative Buy” recommendation on Learning Technologies Group PLC at the current market price of GBX 120.72 (as of 10 June 2022 at 08:46 AM GMT+1), with lower-double digit upside potential based on 17.29x Price/NTM Earnings (approx.) on FY22E earnings per share (approx.).
