Rationale for Valuation – Avoid at GBX 252.40

  • Moody’s affirmed “Ba3” Long-term credit rating in June 2020, with a negative outlook on SIG.
  • In the short-term, the UK market is likely to remain under pressure due to increased market volatility.
  • From the technical standpoint, the 50-day simple moving average price is currently at GBX 254.80, which is higher than the current price and reflecting a downtrend in the near term.

Conclusion

In the US market, the business activity was down by 19% year on year in August 2020. The Company anticipates the business performance to be better in the second half of 2020. It is currently managing the cost base prudently. Signature Aviation opened the new Atlanta FOB in July 2020. Further, the Company is focused on reducing the carbon footprint, and it stated that by 2025 it would bring down the carbon emission by 29%. The Company has acquired fixed base operations (FOB) in Geneva and Sion in Switzerland. The Company is going through a transformation phase and investing more towards the quality of service at this crucial time. The stock made a 52-week low and high of GBX 129.40 and GBX 402.04, respectively.

Based on the headwinds faced by the Company, we have given an “Avoid” recommendation on Signature Aviation at the current price of GBX 252.40 (as on 6 October 2020, before the market close at 2:30 PM GMT+1).
