EMEA and APAC Trailer Demand and North American Truck Market Recovery Drive Q3 Sales Acceleration
The primary growth driver in the period was the original equipment business, with trailer manufacturers accounting for approximately half of Group sales after rising 9.2% in the first nine months. Demand in European and Asia-Pacific trailer markets, particularly India, remained solid throughout the period. The North American truck market also began recovering in Q3, though because this recovery started later in the year, its contribution to the nine-month figures remained limited, with sales from truck manufacturers rising only 0.9%. Regionally, EMEA grew 6.1% to EUR 699.2 million and APAC grew 14.6% to EUR 170.3 million, while Americas sales of EUR 492.8 million were 1.7% below the prior-year level.
Adjusted EBIT Margin Rises to 9.6% as Cost Discipline and Efficiency Programme Deliver Results
Adjusted EBIT increased 7.6% to EUR 130.3 million for the nine-month period, lifting the adjusted EBIT margin from 9.3% to 9.6%. In Q3 specifically, adjusted EBIT rose 16.2% to EUR 44.3 million, with the margin improving from 9.1% to 9.7%. The announcement attributes the positive earnings trend to strong performances in EMEA and APAC, rigorous cost control, and benefits from an efficiency programme initiated in the prior year. A one-time positive effect in the low single-digit million-euro range from a lease modification in APAC partially offset weaker aftermarket performance in Americas, which was affected by temporary constraints linked to the SAP S/4HANA rollout at five production sites.
Operating Free Cash Flow Surges 159.6% as Net Financial Debt Falls to EUR 459.8 Million
Cash generation was a standout feature of the nine-month results. Net cash flow from operating activities increased to EUR 154.3 million from EUR 79.3 million in the prior-year period, driven by strong operating profit and a substantially lower working capital outflow of EUR 11.7 million compared with EUR 53.5 million previously. Capital expenditure on property, plant, equipment and intangibles totalled EUR 30.7 million, with investment directed principally towards the new plant in Rowlett, Texas, IT infrastructure, and the drive2030 strategy. As a result, net financial debt including lease liabilities fell by EUR 45.5 million to EUR 459.8 million, reducing the leverage ratio to 2.0 from 2.3 at the end of 2025.
SAF-HOLLAND Confirms Full-Year 2026 Guidance, Targeting Upper Third of Sales Range
The Management Board confirmed its full-year 2026 outlook, maintaining guidance for Group sales of between EUR 1,700 million and EUR 1,850 million, an adjusted EBIT margin of 9% to 10%, and a capital expenditure ratio of up to 3% of Group sales. Given third-quarter momentum and improved visibility, the board currently expects sales to land in the upper third of that range. The company anticipates delayed aftermarket sales stemming from the SAP S/4HANA implementation to be largely recovered in Q4. Potential negative impacts from geopolitical uncertainties and volatile energy and commodity markets are expected to be largely offset by pricing measures and ongoing efficiency improvements, the announcement states.
