Highlights
Group revenues fell 10% year-on-year to £72.4 million, impacted by timing of license revenues and fewer new title launches.
Adjusted EBITDA margin improved by 240bps, supported by favourable sales mix, absence of impairments, and cost discipline.
Interim dividend of 1 pence per share declared, payable on 10 October 2025.
Everplay Group plc (LSE:EVPL), a leading global independent developer and publisher of premium video games, simulation games and children’s edutainment apps, announced its unaudited results for the six months ended 30 June 2025 (“H1 2025”).
The Group reported revenues of £72.4 million, down 10% compared to £80.6 million in H1 2024. The decline was primarily attributed to the timing of license revenues, fewer new title launches at astragon, lower physical sales, and a strong back catalogue performance in the prior year.
Despite the revenue dip, adjusted EBITDA was broadly in line with last year, with margins expanding by 240 basis points. The improvement was driven by a favourable sales mix, no impairments during the period, and disciplined cost control. As with prior years, performance is expected to be second half weighted.
Operational Highlights
-
New Releases: Four new games launched in H1 2025, compared with nine in the same period last year. In addition, four existing titles were rolled out on new platforms. Revenues from new releases increased by 40% year-on-year.
-
Acquisitions: The Group completed three acquisitions of IP and publishing rights during the period for under £8 million, enhancing its back catalogue and revenue streams. Post period end, rights for six further titles were acquired.
-
Rebranding: Reflecting its growth and diversification since IPO in 2018, the Group rebranded as Everplay Group. It now operates across three divisions in complementary areas of the video games and apps market.
Dividend
The Board declared an interim dividend of one pence per share, payable on 10 October 2025 to shareholders on record as of 12 September 2025 (ex-dividend date: 11 September 2025).
Outlook
Looking ahead, Everplay expects encouraging performance in H2 2025, supported by a pipeline of releases. Titles including Date Everything!, LEGO® Bluey™, and Firefighting Simulator: Ignite are scheduled, alongside the full release of Sworn and first dedicated products for Switch 2.
Overall, around 10 new games are expected to launch during 2025. With visibility over licensing deals and a favourable sales mix, the Board anticipates full-year adjusted EBITDA to be slightly ahead of current market expectations.
