Hercules PLC (LEC:HERC) shares moved into investor focus, rising 5.26% to GBX 50.00 in the morning session on 2 February 2026, after the company announced that its specialist power and energy subsidiary, Advantage NRG, had secured contracted works with a combined value of approximately GBP 6.5 million across two major UK electricity networks.
The newly secured works are part of existing framework agreements with Electricity Northwest and Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks and will run from January to December 2026. The contracts relate to the supply of skilled linesmen for the construction and maintenance of overhead electrical transmission lines.
Under the newly awarded contracts, Advantage NRG will provide specialist operatives to support ongoing electricity network construction and maintenance programmes. At peak delivery, the works are expected to require up to 52 skilled operatives, highlighting the subsidiary’s growing operational scale and technical capability within the UK power and energy sector.
Hercules stated that the awards demonstrate increasing demand for year-round delivery of specialist labour, as electricity network operators continue to accelerate investment in network resilience and capacity.
UK Grid Investment Supports Power Sector Activity
The update along with a broader upgrade of the UK’s electrical infrastructure. According to the company, National Grid proposals include GBP 58 billion of investment aimed at extending and modernising transmission and distribution networks to support sustainable and reliable power delivery across the UK.
Hercules noted that this investment environment continues to underpin demand for specialist power and energy services, particularly in relation to skilled overhead transmission labour.
Revenue Visibility Strengthened for 2026 Financial Year
The Board of Hercules indicated that the newly secured contracts provide favourable revenue visibility for Advantage NRG for the 2026 financial year and beyond. The company also stated that it expects further growth in the power and energy sector, with these contract awards reinforcing that outlook.
Power and energy have been identified by Hercules as a key growth pillar for the Group, supported by its specialist and scalable workforce capabilities.
