Vodafone to sponsor multiple UEFA women’s football competitions through 2030, including UEFA Women’s Champions League and UEFA Women’s EURO 2029.
Vodafone named an official licensee of the UEFA Champions League for the 2025–2026 and 2026–2027 seasons, with the launch of the Champions Travel eSIM.
The partnership builds on Vodafone’s expanding global sports sponsorship portfolio across football, rugby, tennis, volleyball, and athletics.
Vodafone (LSE:VOD) has entered into a long-term partnership with UEFA and UC31 to support both women’s and men’s European football. The agreement marks a multi-year commitment designed to engage fans across competitions and provide new digital services to travelling supporters.
Women’s Football Sponsorships
As an official partner of UEFA Women’s Football, Vodafone will sponsor a range of tournaments through to 2030. These include the UEFA Women’s Champions League, UEFA Women’s EURO 2029, UEFA Women’s Futsal EURO 2027, UEFA Women’s Nations League, Women’s European Qualifiers, and the UEFA Women’s Under-19 and Under-17 Championships.
This agreement positions Vodafone as a central partner in women’s football over the next five years.
Champions League Licensee
Vodafone has also been named an official licensee of the UEFA Champions League for the 2025–2026 and 2026–2027 seasons. Coinciding with the start of the league phase, the Company will introduce the Champions Travel eSIM, a new connectivity product designed to support away fans and international travellers.
The Champions Travel eSIM will provide data coverage in 206 countries, including UEFA’s 55 member associations. Features include unlimited data, top-up options, the ability to create Wi-Fi hotspots, and access to a dedicated service desk. Customers will also have opportunities to win match tickets through periodic draws.
Enhancing Fan Experiences
Vodafone has outlined plans to collaborate with UEFA and UC31 to create additional digital and in-stadium experiences for football fans. The Company has previously applied its telecommunications expertise to improve mobile connectivity at sports events, enabling fans to access updates and share live reactions without disruption.
Expanding Sports Sponsorship Portfolio
The UEFA partnership follows Vodafone’s recently announced sponsorship of Borussia Dortmund football club, further increasing the Company’s portfolio of major sports collaborations.
Outside of football, Vodafone has established partnerships with other high-profile sports organisations and events, including The Championships, Wimbledon; The All England Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club; Scottish Rugby; The Welsh Rugby Union; The Irish Rugby Football Union; Turkish Women’s Volleyball; and RunCzech, the Czech Republic’s largest running series.
The Company confirmed its intention to build on this partnership by developing more initiatives with UEFA and UC31 throughout the duration of the agreement.
