Atlantic Lithium Limited (LSE:ALL), a lithium exploration and development company in Ghana, has confirmed the submission of a revised Mining Lease for its Ewoyaa Lithium Project to the Parliament of Ghana. The Mining Lease has been referred to the Parliamentary Select Committee as part of the formal process for ratification. The revised lease incorporates fiscal terms developed following consultations by the Minister of Lands and Natural Resources with relevant stakeholders, aligning the Project’s royalty rate and Growth and Sustainability Levy with Ghana’s current legislated rates.

Lithium Royalty Rates Under New Regulations
The Minister has also submitted a Legislative Instrument, Minerals and Mining (Royalty) Regulations, 2025, which proposes a sliding scale of royalties for lithium projects based on spodumene prices. Under the proposed framework, projects with spodumene priced up to 1,500 USD/tonne will attract a 5% royalty, prices between 1,501 and 2,500 USD/tonne will attract 7%, between 2,501 and 3,000 USD/tonne will attract 10%, and above 3,000 USD/tonne will attract 12%. These rates are applicable to lithium projects in Ghana and will be considered according to the standard parliamentary process.

Parliamentary Review Process
Following Parliament’s adjournment for the festive period, the Select Committee is expected to review the revised Mining Lease in the New Year. After completing its review, the Committee will provide a recommendation to Parliament regarding the ratification of the Mining Lease. All other fiscal terms outlined in the original Mining Lease granted in October 2023 remain unchanged. Atlantic Lithium has indicated that while it anticipates ratification, there is no certainty that the terms of the Legislative Instrument will remain unchanged or that Parliament will ratify the Mining Lease.
