MedPal AI (LSE:MPAL) has launched MedPal.clinic, its newly developed retail pharmacy website, marking a key step in expanding digital healthcare access in the UK. The platform combines artificial intelligence-based triage with access to Independent Prescribers (IPs) and General Practitioners (GPs) via multiple communication channels, including text and WhatsApp. The Company notes that this model is designed to offer greater flexibility and convenience for individuals seeking primary care pathways.
Focus on Weight-Loss Medication Demand
The initial focus of the platform is the UK’s rapidly developing weight-loss medication segment, particularly GLP-1 agonist treatments. Research referenced by the Company indicates that around 2.5 million adults in the UK either use or are interested in using GLP-1 medications for weight management, with private prescription costs commonly ranging from GBP 150 to GBP 200 per month. Based on this data, the addressable market is estimated to represent more than GBP 500 million in monthly revenue potential.
AI Triage and Automated Dispensing Model
MedPal.clinic operates through MedPal AI’s integrated health ecosystem from its automated distribution centre located at Ecotech Business Park, Swaffham. The system incorporates AI triage that evaluates patient needs within seconds and directs enquiries accordingly. Routine requests are processed through automation while more complex cases are escalated to qualified clinicians. According to the Company, the combination of AI triage and robotic dispensing supports its approach of offering consultations without charge.
The facility uses automated dispensing systems including Omnicell VBM and BD Rowa VMAX, enabling same-day or next-day prescription delivery across the UK. The Company states that this model is structured to reduce traditional access constraints such as wait times, geographic limitations, and cost barriers.
Integration Across MedPal Ecosystem
The MedPal.clinic launch completes the Company’s two-part structure. The first component is its AI-powered wellness app, which aggregates data from more than 100 health and wearable platforms to deliver non-clinical insights. The second component is its regulated Distance Selling Pharmacy, acquired through Universal Pharmacy Limited’s assets and operating from the Company’s expanded automated site.
This integrated approach links wellness-focused engagement from the app with fulfilment of clinical needs via the regulated pharmacy service.
Route-to-Market Channels and User Access
MedPal AI’s partnerships extend its reach to over 11 million eligible employees through Epassi UK Limited and provide initial free access to members of more than 2,000 gyms via Independent Gyms Ltd. Revenue share arrangements apply to subscription conversions after trial periods. The Company notes that this infrastructure supports its ability to offer competitive pricing while maintaining required clinical and safety standards.
