Highlights

  • Thruvision receives notice of intent for aviation worker screening deployment at a US airport.
  • Proposed deployment includes two latest-generation 8116 cameras under TSA mandate compliance.
  • Final contract award remains subject to standard procurement and approval processes.

Thruvision Group plc (LSE:THRU) has disclosed that it has received a Notice of Intent to Award for its SpotCHECK people-screening solution at a large airport in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States. The proposed deployment is linked to aviation worker screening requirements under the Transportation Security Administration’s National Mandate.

The notification represents an interim step rather than a completed contract. The final award remains subject to customary procurement procedures and internal approvals, which are expected to conclude by 13 December. Until those processes are completed, the notice does not constitute a binding contract.

Scope of the Proposed Deployment
According to the company, the proposed solution includes the supply of two of Thruvision’s latest-generation 8116 cameras. These units form part of the SpotCHECK system, which is designed for walk-through screening applications focused on aviation workers rather than passengers.

The customer associated with the proposed award is an existing airport client, indicating a continuation of a prior working relationship. The deployment is intended to support compliance with TSA-mandated screening standards for airport employees, a requirement that has been phased in across US aviation facilities.

Alignment With Regulatory Requirements
The company stated that the notice of intent demonstrates that its screening technology meets the operational and technical requirements outlined in the TSA’s aviation worker screening mandate. This mandate has increased demand for equipment that can be deployed in employee screening lanes without disrupting airport operations.

In connection with this mandate, Thruvision is presenting its screening solution at the American Association of Airport Executives Annual Aviation Security Summit. The event brings together airport operators, security officials, and vendors involved in aviation security implementation across the US.

Outlook Within the Calendar Year
The announced notice of intent aligns with commentary previously included in the group’s interim results, issued on 25 November 2025. At that time, Thruvision indicated that multiple contract awards were expected before the end of the 2025 calendar year in relation to aviation security requirements.

While this particular award remains in a pre-contract stage, it forms part of a broader pipeline linked to regulatory-driven security upgrades at airports. The timing and completion of such awards are dependent on individual customer procurement cycles and approval frameworks.

Positioning in the Aviation Screening Segment
The proposed airport deployment reflects ongoing activity within the aviation worker screening segment in the US market. As TSA requirements continue to be implemented, airports are assessing and rolling out screening solutions suited to employee access points, contributing to a flow of tenders and interim award notices such as this one.
