Westminster Group Plc (AIM: WSG), a UK-based supplier of managed security services and technology-based screening systems, has announced the award of a new contract valued at more than £220,000. The contract is for the delivery of an advanced personnel screening system, intended to protect a high-priority facility operated by a multinational science and chemicals company in the United Kingdom.
The new engagement will be handled by Westminster’s Technology Division, which provides security and safety equipment to governments, critical infrastructure, and private sector clients across multiple regions. This latest award follows closely on the heels of the company’s previous disclosure on 30 June 2025, where it confirmed two separate technology contracts with a combined value of approximately GBP 680,000. The newest contract brings Westminster’s recent order intake in the technology segment to over GBP 900,000 within a short span.
The client, a global enterprise operating within the chemicals and scientific research industry, has enlisted Westminster’s services to enhance the protection of one of its critical UK-based installations. The scope of the contract includes the supply and implementation of personnel screening technology—equipment used to verify and control access to secure locations. The installation is expected to improve monitoring and site-level access control, in line with industry-specific safety standards.
Peter Fowler, CEO of Westminster Group, acknowledged the contract win and emphasised that it reflects continued activity across the company's security technology vertical. He also noted the significance of adding a new global customer to the company’s client base, particularly one with a presence in sensitive industrial sectors.
Although Westminster did not disclose the identity of the client due to confidentiality agreements, the nature of the deployment suggests a focus on high-security applications, where consistent performance and regulatory compliance are crucial. This aligns with the company’s prior engagements in transportation hubs, government institutions, and industrial installations across Africa, the Middle East, and Europe.
Founded in the UK, Westminster Group offers a portfolio that includes screening equipment, surveillance systems, access control technologies, and perimeter security products. Its managed services division operates security contracts on a long-term basis, including airport operations and site protection in remote or politically sensitive regions. The Technology Division, which won the current contract, focuses on equipment supply and integration, often working on short- to medium-term projects.
The company's strategy in recent years has involved diversifying its customer base while maintaining focus on security-critical environments. This includes expanding service delivery to the private sector in parallel with ongoing work in government and public sector domains. The addition of a global science and chemical client is consistent with this approach and reflects demand for secure access systems in sectors handling sensitive materials.
Westminster’s recent series of contract announcements come at a time when global attention to infrastructure security, particularly in the context of industrial safety and data integrity, continues to remain high. Companies involved in critical processes including chemical production, scientific research, and logistics are increasingly investing in physical and digital access control measures.
In the absence of further operational details, it is not yet clear whether the new contract will lead to additional recurring revenue opportunities or future orders from the same client. However, Westminster’s management has indicated that recent wins reflect the company’s ability to meet the specific needs of mission-sensitive projects in the UK and abroad.
The installation phase of the GBP 220,000 screening project is expected to begin shortly, with completion timelines dependent on site access, customisation requirements, and client-side readiness.
