Polarean Imaging plc (LSE:POLX), a medical imaging technology company focused on functional MRI of the lungs, has announced the installation of its first Xenon MRI research system in Taiwan. The system will be delivered to the National Taiwan University Hospital (NTUH), recognized as the country’s leading academic medical centre with a background in clinical research and patient care.

The order has been arranged through Polarean’s strategic partner, Philips Medical Systems Nederland B.V., marking the company’s initial entry into the Asian market.

Collaboration with Local Distributor

Sumtage Enterprise Company Limited (“Sumtage”), Polarean’s newly appointed Taiwanese distributor, will handle installation and training at NTUH. The distributor will also work with Polarean to support the regulatory approval and reimbursement processes required for the system’s wider use in Taiwan.

This collaboration is intended to ensure the technology is implemented effectively and that necessary regulatory steps are addressed in alignment with local requirements.

Strategic Regional Expansion

The installation at NTUH represents Polarean’s first commercial presence in Asia. The initiative is part of the company’s broader effort to introduce Xenon MRI technology to new regions and establish the foundation for potential adoption in other markets across Asia.

By partnering with Philips and Sumtage, Polarean aims to provide both the technology and operational support required to integrate Xenon MRI into clinical research and patient care
