Aeorema Communications reported interim results on 22 September 2026 showing Revenue of £17.5 million for the six months to 30 June 2026, up 32.5 per cent from £13.2 million a year earlier. Profit before tax, excluding non-trading foreign exchange, tripled to £1.5 million from £0.5 million. The strategic communications group, which is AIM-quoted and a constituent of the FTSE AIM All Share Index, said this was its highest six-month profit since it joined AIM in 2002.

What the company does

Aeorema is a strategic communications group, and its interim statement highlights live events and Brand activations. Its operations include work at Cannes Lions, Climate Week NYC, SXSW Austin and POSSIBLE Miami. The Business is therefore tied closely to the annual calendar of major industry events, which helps explain why revenue is concentrated in particular parts of the year.

Results and guidance

Reported profit before tax was £1.47 million after a foreign exchange loss of £38,848. Cash was £4.8 million at 30 June 2026, compared with £3.1 million a year before, and the company reported £2.9 million at the announcement date. No Interim Dividend was declared. A 1p final dividend for the 18 months to 31 December 2025 was paid on 10 July 2026, and the board intends to recommend a final dividend for 2026, subject to performance and financial position.

Guidance was raised again. The company now expects full-year 2026 revenue of at least £23.0 million, up from at least £22.6 million, and profit before tax excluding foreign exchange of at least £1.06 million, up from at least £1.0 million. A separate announcement on 15 September 2026 had flagged a further material upgrade to expectations. The board expects record annual revenue and profit, but cautioned that revenue is weighted more heavily to the first half than usual, so first-half profitability should not be extrapolated across the year.

Events and contracts

The interim report cited a record Cannes Lions 2026 with 17 activations and record contracted revenue, and a three-year contract to deliver Climate Week NYC in 2026, 2027 and 2028, announced on 11 June 2026. Its Subsidiary Cheerful Twentyfirst was named Experiential Agency of the Year at the 2026 Conference News Agency Awards, and early planning for Cannes Lions 2027 is under way.

Share buybacks

During the period, the company repurchased and cancelled 257,500 shares for £164,018, an average of 65p. A new buyback programme began on 13 August 2026, and 65,000 shares had been bought under it at an average of 64p by the time of the interim report. Further transaction notices followed on 24 August, 27 August and 28 September 2026, with total voting rights announcements as recently as 1 October 2026.

Sector and index context

Marketing and events businesses are sensitive to corporate budgets, which can be cut quickly when the economy weakens. Multi-year contracts such as Climate Week NYC give some visibility, while event timing can produce uneven reporting between halves. AIM-quoted communications groups are generally small and thinly traded, so a buyback can have a noticeable effect on liquidity. Being in the FTSE AIM All Share Index indicates AIM quotation; no index weighting or movement is stated here.

Risks and what to watch

Risks include the skew of revenue to the first half, currency movements, and reliance on a few large flagship events. Investors will watch the full-year trading update, the proposed final dividend, progress on the buyback and early bookings for 2027.
