Brooks Macdonald Group reported record client Assets of £21.7bn and a return to net inflows in its results for the year to 30 June 2026, published on 3 September. Those results remain the latest figures we could retrieve, as we were unable to obtain the first-quarter update scheduled for 14 October.

What happened

Brooks Macdonald (ticker: BRK) is a UK Wealth manager in the financial services sector, quoted on the London Stock Exchange. Our coverage list treats it as a FTSE All-Share company, but we could not confirm its index membership or Market Segment from the sources retrieved today, so that status should be treated as unverified.

Total funds under management and advice rose 14% over the year, from £19.1bn to £21.7bn. That total comprises £19.3bn of funds under management and £2.4bn of advised-only assets.

Net inflows were £226m, against outflows of £396m in the previous year, according to Edison. The second half did almost all of the work, with £224m of inflows against just £2m in the first half.

Revenue rose 6% to £118.1m. Underlying pre-tax profit was close to flat at £29.0m, compared with £28.9m, and the underlying Operating Margin slipped from 25.9% to 24.6%.

Why it matters for investors

The gap between underlying and statutory results is the main complication. Statutory pre-tax profit fell 82% to £3.2m after £25.8m of net adjusting items, and statutory Diluted Earnings per Share dropped to 15.1p from 71.4p. Underlying diluted earnings per share, by contrast, rose 6% to 137.9p.

The mix of flows also needs care. Edison's note shows the platform managed portfolio service taking in £915m, lifting its funds by 35% to £8.0bn, while the bespoke portfolio service lost £363m.

That shift has a price. The managed portfolio Yield fell to 21.3 basis points from 24.0, so in our analysis growth in lower-fee products may not translate pound for pound into revenue.

Shareholders received a final Dividend of 52.0p, taking the full-year payment to 83.0p, up 2.5% and the 21st consecutive year of growth. Cash and Liquid assets fell to £25.0m from £53.8m, with no Debt at the year end.

How the shares have performed

Hargreaves Lansdown's page, viewed today, showed a previous close of 1,460p and a Market Value of £231.81m, alongside a price-to-earnings ratio of 10.37 and a Dividend Yield of 5.68%. The page carried no time or date stamp and marked the market as closed, so these are indicative rather than a confirmed 3 November price.

We did not retrieve a dated price history, so we make no claim about performance over a defined period. The same page's dividend field still referred to the 31p interim, which went ex-dividend on 12 March 2026 and was paid on 10 April.

What to watch next

The first-quarter update for financial 2027 was scheduled for 14 October, according to the company's results page. We could not retrieve it, so readers should check it directly; flows after the notable second half are the obvious test of momentum.

For the current year, the board said it expects performance marginally ahead of market expectations. It expects organic Investment to fall to high single-digit millions, and Edison noted £10m to £15m of net deferred consideration receipts.

The medium-term goals are annualised net flows of 5% and business-as-usual cost growth below 5%. Against £19.1bn of opening assets, last year's £226m of inflows was still some way short of that flow target, on our calculation, which makes the coming quarters a useful gauge.
