Iofina plc (LON:IOF) garnered a positive endorsement from Canaccord Genuity, which recently issued a buy rating with a GBX 45 target price, highlighting the company's robust production growth and promising market outlook. This comes on the heels of Iofina's Q4 2025 update, revealing record iodine output of 743.2 metric tonnes for the full year ended December 31, 2025, a 17.2% year-on-year surge from its Oklahoma IOsorb® plants. Shares jumped 6.73% to 27.75 GBX on January 13, building on a 45% gain over the past year, as investors eye Permian Basin expansion and revenue exceeding USD 65 million.

Record Production Achieved in 2025

During the fourth quarter of 2025, Iofina Resources produced 221.8 metric tonnes of crystalline iodine from its eight IOsorb® plants in Central and Northwest Oklahoma. This compared with 194.1 metric tonnes produced in the same period of 2024.

Total crystalline iodine production in the second half of 2025 reached a record 437.6 metric tonnes, up from 358.0 metric tonnes in H2 2024. For the full year, iodine production totalled 743.2 metric tonnes, exceeding the prior year’s output of 634.1 metric tonnes and reaching the upper end of the company’s stated annual guidance range of 400–440 metric tonnes for the second half.

Revenue and Cash Position Update

Following higher production volumes and a favourable sales cycle in the second half of the year, Iofina expects its FY 2025 revenue and EBITDA to exceed market expectations. Revenue for the year is projected to surpass USD 65 million, while EBITDA is expected to be greater than USD 11 million.

The company also reported net cash of USD 5.2 million as at December 31, 2025, compared with USD 2.9 million at the end of FY 2024.

Growth Projects Progressing in the Permian Basin

Iofina continues to advance construction of its next IOsorb® plant in the Permian Basin. The new facility is expected to process approximately 50,000 barrels of water, around twice the maximum brine throughput capacity of the company’s existing Oklahoma plants.

The plant is targeting annualised crystalline iodine production of between 170 and 220 metric tonnes. Based on current timelines, the operations team expects the plant to be switched on in the second half of 2026.

Outlook for 2026 Production

The company expects crystalline iodine production of between 325 and 355 metric tonnes in the first half of 2026, compared with 305.5 metric tonnes in H1 2025. Iofina reiterated that its iodine production profile remains second-half weighted due to winter conditions in oil fields and lower brine temperatures earlier in the year.

Spot iodine prices remained consistently above USD 70 per kilogram throughout 2025, with the company expecting these pricing conditions to continue into 2026 amid sustained global demand.
