Highlights
- Rock chip sampling at Darlot West returns gold grades up to 65.75 g/t.
- Project covers 60.6km² with multiple areas showing elevated gold mineralisation.
- High-resolution airborne magnetics results expected in late October or early November.
Cloudbreak Discovery Plc (LSE:CDL), a LSE Main Market listed company, has reported results from its recent rock chip sampling program at the Darlot West Gold Project in Western Australia. The project is located 10km southwest of the Darlot Gold Mine, which has historically produced 2.8Moz of gold, and 25km north of Northern Star Limited’s Thunderbox Gold Mine, with an annual production of 232koz, a resource of 4.7Moz, and a reserve of 1.96Moz.
Following the company’s maiden sampling program in August, which recorded rock chips containing up to 28.62 g/t Au, the latest results confirm the presence of substantial gold mineralisation across the project area. Multiple rock chip samples now exceed 1 g/t Au, with the highest returning 65.75 g/t (approximately 2.11 ounces per tonne).
Geological Insights and Exploration Potential
Mapping the rock chip results against low-resolution regional magnetic data highlights significant structural complexity and dilation zones, suggesting multiple large areas suitable for further exploration. Historical mining shafts, outcrops, and trenches have all returned gold-bearing results, and metal detecting has confirmed the presence of coarse gold.
A high-resolution airborne magnetics survey has been completed, with results expected shortly. These results, combined with upcoming soil assay data, will guide targeted drilling programs across the 60.6km² Darlot West project.
Management Comment
Tom Evans, MD of Cloudbreak, commented:
"These rock chip samples over such a large area are highly significant and it's very encouraging to see these results continue to confirm and show significant gold mineralisation potential over large parts of the Darlot West project. Plotting these gold results on the low-resolution magnetics reveals significant areas for us to target for future exploration. Soil sampling results are due shortly, as are the high-resolution magnetic results, and these will help us further develop our near-term exploration plans. The Darlot West Gold Project covers 60.6km² and is a sizeable area, and with samples now up to 65.75g/t gold, we will continue to follow up on high priority gold mineralisation over the project with the aim of moving the project towards drilling as soon as possible. I look forward to updating shareholders as results come to hand."
Upcoming Work Programs
Assay results from soil samples previously collected are expected to be released in late October. High-resolution airborne magnetics results are anticipated in late October or early November. These upcoming results will help refine and define the drilling target areas across the Darlot West project.
Share performance
The company is currently trading at GBX 1.30, up by 30.00% from its previous close of GBX 1.00.
