Arkadian Strategic Metals, the AIM-quoted explorer, reported on 3 November 2026 that early metallurgical tests on its Motzfeldt project in Greenland had produced rare earth concentrates. The announcement followed a 26 October 2026 general meeting result tied to a proposed share consolidation, part of a plan to seek a US OTCQB Quotation alongside its AIM listing. The company is a constituent of the FTSE AIM All Share Index.
What the company does
Arkadian describes itself as a mineral exploration and development company with gold and critical mineral projects in the UK and northern Europe. It holds three wholly owned gold projects in Wales: Clogau, Dolgellau and Gwynfynydd. Its investments include a 51 per cent stake in the Motzfeldt Critical Metals Project in Greenland, minority holdings in GreenRoc and Horse Hill, and earn-in rights on the Finnsbo project in Sweden. The company changed its name and ticker code in 2026, with announcements on 20 May and 8 June 2026.
Motzfeldt test work
According to the summary of the 3 November announcement, phase 1 tests on a bulk sample from the Aries target lifted the feed grade from about 0.65 per cent total rare earth oxide to 13.37 per cent in a single unoptimised flotation stage, with 20.3 per cent recovery. A finer gravity fraction produced a concentrate of 2.24 per cent total rare earth oxide and 12.2 per cent zirconium oxide. Aries carries a JORC-compliant inferred resource of 340 million tonnes. Phase 2 work will cover finer grinding, combined gravity and flotation testing and the recovery of niobium and tantalum. At Clogau, 29 gold samples and about 1.5 tonnes of floor material were collected for pilot-plant processing. These are early-stage results and do not by themselves establish a commercial operation.
Consolidation and US listing plan
On 8 October 2026 the company proposed consolidating its shares at 1 new share for every 1,500 existing shares, which would reduce the total from 25,981,155,000 to 17,320,770. It also intends to apply for quotation on the OTCQB Venture Market, which requires a closing bid of at least US$0.05 over the preceding 30 days, a level the share price did not meet at the time. The board said admission is not assured and that consolidation alone does not guarantee better Liquidity or valuation. The general meeting was scheduled for 26 October, with new shares due to be admitted to AIM on 27 October. The board argued that broader North American exposure is a priority given the importance of Greenland's critical minerals to Western Supply chains.
Recent operational news
A Horse Hill sale and Finnsbo update appeared on 20 October 2026, a Clogau exploration update on 19 October and a note on a US-Greenland deal on 23 September. Half-year results for the six months to 31 May 2026 were released on 27 August 2026; their figures were not reviewed.
Sector and index context
Critical minerals explorers depend on Commodity prices, permitting, metallurgy and access to capital, and many carry no Revenue for years. Very large share counts and low prices are common in small AIM resource companies, and consolidation is a standard way to create a more conventional structure. The FTSE AIM All Share Index covers AIM-quoted companies generally; no index weighting or movement is stated here.
Risks and what to watch
Risks include financing needs, technical uncertainty, Greenland-specific logistics and the possibility that OTCQB admission does not proceed. Shareholders will watch phase 2 test results, any funding, and confirmation of the OTCQB application.
