BP PLC (LSE: BP.) is an FTSE 100-listed multinational oil and gas company with a global energy business spread across Australasia, Asia, Africa, Europe, North and South America. 

In the first half of FY 2025, the company reported revenue of USD 95.55 billion, down 2.7% from USD 98.21 billion in the same period of FY 2024, mainly due to lower refining margins, weaker liquids realizations, and a reduced gas marketing and trading result. Adjusted EBITDA declined 6.4% to USD 18.67 billion from USD 19.94 billion, reflecting reduced refining margins and lower realizations, partly offset by efficiency gains. Profit for the period rose 17.8% to USD 2.91 billion compared to USD 2.47 billion, supported by improved customer and product results and the absence of one-off outages, though partly offset by higher depreciation and an increased tax rate.

Business Update

On September 9, 2025, the company declared an interim dividend of USD 0.08 per share for the second quarter of FY 2025. The dividend is scheduled to be paid to shareholders on September 19, 2025.

Outlook

For Q3 2025, upstream production is expected to be slightly lower than Q2, while underlying oil production is projected to remain broadly flat for FY 2025. Gas and low-carbon output is anticipated to decline modestly. Capital expenditure guidance is maintained at approximately USD 14.5 billion for FY 2025, with divestment proceeds of USD 3–4 billion expected, largely weighted toward Q4. In addition, the company announced a USD 750 million share buyback for Q2 and a 4% dividend increase to 8.32 cents per share.
