In the first quarter of the financial year 2025 (Q1FY25), the company’s revenue increased by 4.5% YoY to USD 69.23 billion, driven by improved product margins and higher LNG sales volumes.
Adjusted EBITDA surged by 6.8% YoY to USD 15.25 billion, driven by higher product margins and lower operating expenses in Marketing and Chemicals. Adjusted earnings grew by 52.3% YoY to USD 5.57 billion in Q1FY25, compared to USD 3.66 billion in Q4FY24.
Recent Business Update
Shell PLC has launched a USD 3.5 billion share buyback programme. The buyback is aimed at reducing its issued share capital before July 31, 2025. The programme will be executed through two irrevocable contracts, one for each of the UK and Netherlands exchanges, each capped at USD 1.75 billion.
Company Outlook
Shell expects FY25 production of 890–950k boe/d from integrated gas and 1,560–1,760k boe/d from upstream, reflecting the effects of divestments and scheduled asset maintenance. Refinery utilization is projected to range between 87% and 95%, while corporate adjusted earnings are expected to show a net expense of USD 400–600 billion.
