Rokeby Resources has announced a 20-year renewal for Mining Licence MIN 4921 (ML 4921), a significant part of the recently acquired Omeo Gold Project in Victoria, Australia.

The extension ensures operational sustainability until 13 May 2044 under the Victorian Mineral Resources (Sustainable Development) Act 1990.

The mining licence covers the Mt Wills goldfield, which includes the Maude and Sunnyside deposits, part of the project’s historical mineral resource estimate of 320,000oz of gold at four grams per tonne (g/t) gold.

This estimate was previously disclosed by the company in April 2026, although it is not reported in compliance with the Joint Ore Reserves Committee Code (2012).

The renewal solidifies Rokeby’s long-term control over the main site of the Omeo project.

This supports its strategy to enhance exploration efforts, expand resources and proceed with development evaluations.

Future initiatives at the project will focus on exploration activities aimed at increasing the current high-grade historical estimate's size and scope.

Historical drilling efforts have revealed several high-grade intercepts, with mineralisation still open along a 5.8km zone.

The Sunnyside deposit is identified as a significant target for future exploration.

Rokeby Resources aims to begin drilling at the Sunnyside promptly following the conclusion of acquisition and permitting procedures.

Rokeby CEO Trevor Benson said: “The renewal of ML 4921 for a further 20 years is an outstanding outcome for Rokeby and materially strengthens the long-term value proposition of the high-grade Omeo Gold Project. Securing long-duration tenure over the core resource area provides the company with a strong platform to execute our exploration and growth strategy with confidence.

“Importantly, the renewed mining licence covers a historically productive high-grade goldfield with substantial exploration upside, existing infrastructure and with multiple potential development pathways to be assessed. The renewal further reinforces the strategic significance of the Omeo project as a cornerstone asset for Rokeby.”
