Highlights
Project Ixian is Defence Technologies’ first sovereign AI-enabled product, focused on information operations.
Developed in collaboration with a global technology leader, embedding hyperscale AI-native infrastructure.
Commercial rollout begins December, with long-term deployment potential across defence, security, and private sectors.
Defence Technologies has announced the launch of Project Ixian, its first sovereign AI product designed to counter modern information operations. Information operations encompass the distortion, control, or denial of information to destabilise societies, disrupt institutions, and weaken adversaries. Identified in the UK Strategic Defence Review 2025 (SDR25) as a priority threat vector, they span disinformation, cyber activity, narrative manipulation, and digital sabotage.
Strategic Collaboration and Sovereign Resilience
Project Ixian has been developed in partnership with one of the world’s “Magnificent 7” technology companies. Defence Technologies’ engineers collaborated directly with the partner’s engineering teams to embed AI-native cloud infrastructure, enabling hyperscale capability from inception.
This integration ensures sovereign-grade resilience and scalability, positioning Defence Technologies among the few emerging defence firms operating at the scale of prime contractors.
Designed with Frontline Input
The development of Project Ixian has incorporated extensive engagement with UK military end-users. Workshops with frontline personnel have ensured that the product reflects operational realities, not just strategic planning requirements.
Addressing an Escalating Threat
Campaigns such as Operation Doppelgänger, a Russian disinformation initiative impersonating European media outlets, and Telegram-linked sabotage networks targeting critical infrastructure in the UK and Europe, highlight how hybrid threats combine digital manipulation with physical disruption.
The UK Government has already prioritised this area through measures including the National Security Act 2023, the Cyber Resilience Bill, the forthcoming Cyber & Electromagnetic Command, and the RESIST 2 Toolkit.
Next Steps
Project Ixian is scheduled to enter its first phase of value realisation in December, marking a key milestone in its commercial rollout.
