Valuation Methodology: Price/Earnings Approach (FY22E) (Illustrative)

Business Outlook

POLR has shown a substantial growth in the net management fees and the average AuM during H1 FY22. The Company has replicated a positive net inflows momentum of Q3 FY22 into the first two weeks of January 2022 because of the diverse range of complementary funds. The Company had launched Polar Capital Smart Energy and Smart Mobility Funds in September 2021. Moreover, these funds fared well with early flows and demonstrable appetite from potential investors in these funds. Overall, POLR would seek to re-invest across all divisions in the business during H2 FY22 and aimed to maximise the long-term growth opportunities.

Please note markets are trading in a highly volatile zone currently due to certain macro-economic and geopolitical tensions prevailing. Therefore, it is prudent to follow a cautious approach while investing.

Considering the strong growth in AuM, decent profitability, high dividend yield, and support from the valuation as done using the above method, we have given a “Speculative Buy” recommendation on Polar Capital Holdings PLC at the current price of GBX 515.00 (as of 08 March 2022 at 08:00 AM GMT), with lower-double digit upside potential based on 10.73x Price/NTM Earnings (approx.) on FY22E earnings per share (approx.).
