Conclusion

ASHM had anticipated decent growth in the emerging markets during 2021. Furthermore, the central bank policies are expected to remain supportive, which provides a robust backdrop for continued superior economic growth and solid performance in Emerging Mark. Nonetheless, the accelerated progress of Covid-19 vaccinations across emerging markets shall boost up the economic activities further. Moreover, the supportive fiscal and monetary policies by developed countries may improve the global macro-outlook. The fixed income markets fell globally, while equity markets increase over the quarter, reflecting successful vaccination programmes in many countries and a repricing of inflation expectations. Overall, the Company would focus on allocating its investments in those parts of the world, which offer higher returns and yield. The stock made a 52-week low and high of GBX 316.60 and GBX 493.40, respectively.

Based on the factors discussed above, we have given a “BUY” recommendation on Ashmore Group Plc at the current price of GBX 418.40 (as on 16 April 2021 at 9:15 AM GMT) with a lower double-digit upside potential based on 18.10x Price/NTM Earnings (approx.) on FY21E earnings per share (approx.).

  • In the last year, the Company delivered a return of ~417.05% and delivered higher returns compared to the benchmark Index (FTSE 250 Index).
  • From a technical standpoint, 200-day SMA (GBX 287.69) supports an upside potential.
