• Investment in Trion Development: The group announced on 20 June 2023, that it approved the plan to develop the large high-quality Trion resource in Mexico with a total capital expenditure of USD 7.2 bn out of which WDS will be deploying approx. USD 4.8 bn while owning control over 605 of its operations and the rest to be managed by PEMEX Exploración y Producción (PEMEX). This project is estimated to deliver an IRR greater than 16% with a payback period of less than four years.
• Fatality at North Rankin Complex: On 2 June 2023, the group reported a recent accident on the offshore WDS operations at North Rankin Complex that led to the death of an employee of WDS contractor company.
