Generac Holdings Inc. (NYSE: GNRC)

Generac Holdings Inc. is a global designer, manufacturer, and provider of energy technology solutions. The Company provides power generation equipment, energy storage systems, energy management devices & solutions, and other power products serving the residential, light commercial, and industrial markets.

Recommendation Rationale – SELL at USD 167.65

  • Trading Near Resistance Level: GNRC’s share price surpassed its R2 level recommended on 18 November 2025, the 14-day RSI is now around 58.38, approaching overbought territory. Therefore, share price can face resistance at the current levels.
  • Muted Revenue Trend: Net sales declined to USD 1,114.4 million in Q3 FY25 from USD 1,173.6 million in Q3 FY24, indicating a softer sales environment.
  • Softer Profit Delivery: Net income reduced to USD 66.6 million in Q3 FY25 from USD 113.8 million in Q3 FY24, indicating subdued bottom-line performance.
  • Higher Long-Term Obligations: Long-term borrowings and finance lease liabilities rose to USD 1,357.0 million as of 30 September 2025 from USD 1,210.8 million as of 30 September 2024, reflecting a higher debt load.
  • Residential Demand Risk: Sales rely on power outages driven by weather patterns; milder storm activity can reduce demand for home standby generators, affecting volumes and absorption margins.

Valuation Methodology: Price/Earnings Approach (FY December'26E) (Illustrative)

The stock might trade at a slight premium to peers, supported by a rise in cash and cash equivalents as of 30 September 2025 to USD 300.0 million from USD 281.3 million versus pcp, and by ongoing price adjustments and supply-chain actions intended to ease tariff-related pressure on profitability.

For conducting the valuation, the following peers have been considered: Terex Corp (NYSE: TEX), Emerson Electric Co (NYSE: EMR), and IDEX Corp (NYSE: IEX).

Considering that the stock has surpassed its R1 level, current trading levels, softer fundamentals, and risks associated, the share price can face consolidation at the current levels. Hence, a ‘Sell’ recommendation is given on the stock at the closing market price of USD 167.65, as of 11 December 2025.

Generac Holdings Inc. (NYSE: GNRC) is a part of Global Fully Charge Portfolio.

Markets are trading in a highly volatile zone currently due to certain macro-economic issues and geopolitical issues prevailing geopolitical tensions. Therefore, it is prudent to follow a cautious approach while investing.
