Valuation Methodology

*Peers: CYBG Plc, Lloyds Banking Group Plc, Royal Bank of Scotland Group Plc and Paragon Banking Group Plc.

Conclusion
The company had shown a decline in the financial performance in the first half of the financial year 2019. Although the top-line performance has improved, the bottom-line performance declined for the current period. The company hadnot been able to control its operating and non-operating expenses effectively, due to which profitability declined. The company’s operations can be affected negatively due to ongoing uncertainties created over the Brexit. The company has achieved decent growth from its core market segments.

Based on the above rationale and valuation, we recommend investors to keep a "Watch" on the stock at the closing price of GBX 340.80 (as on 8th October 2019), with support from few catalysts needs to be evaluated at a later stage.

On 9th October 2019, A.G. Barr Plc shares were trading at GBX 545.00 at the time of writing before the market close (at 11:16 AM GMT), down by 1.27% against the previous day closing price. Stock's 52 weeks High and Low are GBX 980.00/GBX 542.00.

Conclusion
The company’s financial performance has declined in the first half of the financial year 2020. Both the top-line and the bottom-line performance have declined for the current period. Also, continued Brexit uncertainty has the potential to cause a slowdown in the soft drinks industry, with the added potential of supply chain issues. In the future, intense competition, changing consumer preferences, water concerns and obesity could affect its future growth avenues. Given the tough competition in the premium bottled water space, the company anticipated that the sales growth would slow down in addition to regulation on plastics and sugar.

Keeping in mind the weak financial performance and risks associated, we recommend investors to “Avoid” taking fresh positions at the closing price of GBX 552 (as on 8th October 2019).

Conclusion
Although the top-line performance has improved, the bottom-line performance has declined for the period. The company is looking forward to increasing its production through development in Tilapia and expand its surface facilities through a field-development plan which include ten additional wells. This strategy has been facilitated by the achievement of the drilling of TLP-103C and the detection of hydrocarbons at each level that was breached. The company was able to increase its production in the upcoming financial year 2019.

Conclusion
The company’s financial performance has declined in the first half of the financial year 2019. Both the top-line and the bottom-line performance have declined for the current period. The company had alsoextended its partnership with the JD Sports and will expand JD-X in more than 550 stores in Europe and the UK.The company’s collaboration with SUBWAY® Radio is performing exceptionally well. The solid improvement in revenue and profitability is reflected by new business coming on stream and the impact of cost control measures taken by the company, specifically on AVC Immedia division.

Based on the decent growth prospects, and supported by valuation done using the above method, we have given a “Speculative Buy” recommendation at the closing price of GBX 13.00 (as on 8th October 2019) with single-digit upside potential based on 12.59x NTM Price/Earnings (approx.) on FY19E earnings per share (approx.).

Conclusion
On an adjusted basis, the company’s financial performance has declined in the financial year 2019. Both the top-line and the bottom-line performance has declined for the period.
