InterContinental Hotels Group PLC (LSE:IHG) shares moved 1.87% higher during the morning session on 17 February 2026 after the group reported full-year results for the 12 months ended 31 December 2025. The stock has climbed 22.73% over the past six months, supported by earnings growth, record hotel openings and continued shareholder returns.
Double-Digit Profit and EPS Growth
For FY25, operating profit from reportable segments increased 13% year-on-year to USD 1,265 million, supported by margin expansion and a modest USD 1 million favourable currency impact.
Adjusted EPS rose 16% to 501.3 Cents in FY25, reflecting higher profitability and a 4.2% reduction in the weighted average number of shares. Fee margin improved to 64.8%, up 3.6 percentage points, driven by operating leverage and growth in ancillary fee streams.
On an IFRS basis, operating profit increased 15% to USD 1,198 million in FY25, while total revenue rose 5% to USD 5,189 million.
RevPAR Growth Led by EMEAA
Global RevPAR (Revenue per available room) for FY25 increased 1.5%, with performance varying by region. The Americas recorded growth of 0.3%, EMEAA (Europe, Middle East, Asia, and Africa) advanced 4.6%, while Greater China declined 1.6%, although it returned to growth in the fourth quarter.
Average daily rate rose 0.8% and occupancy improved by 0.5 percentage points. Total gross revenue reached USD 35.2 billion in FY25, up 5% year-on-year.
Record Openings and Expanding Pipeline
IHG opened 65,100 rooms in FY25, up 10% year-on-year, across a record 443 hotels. The global estate reached 1,026,000 rooms across 6,963 hotels.
