Diageo PLC (LSE: DGE), a UK-based alcoholic beverage company listed on the FTSE 100 index, has grouped its portfolio into “Global Giants,” featuring six flagship brands: Johnnie Walker, Smirnoff, Baileys, Captain Morgan, Tanqueray, and Guinness.

For FY25, Diageo posted net sales of USD 20,245 million, up 0.1% from USD 20,220 million in FY24. This was impacted by an unfavourable foreign exchange effect of 0.6% and acquisition/disposal adjustments of 1.1%, partially offset by 1.7% organic growth. Operating profit rose 27.7% to USD 4,335 million from USD 3,395 million, largely driven by exceptional impairment and restructuring charges as well as FX headwinds. Net cash flow from operating activities increased 4.7% to USD 4,297 million.

The company has appointed Deirdre Mahlan as Interim Chief Financial Officer, effective 18 August 2025.

Company Outlook

 The company expects organic net sales growth to be like FY25, with first-half softness offset by second-half improvement; growth to remain supported by brand strength and portfolio diversification. Further, organic operating profit is expected to grow at a mid-single-digit rate, aided by cost savings from the Accelerate programme and operational efficiencies.

Free cash flow is targeted at c.USD 3 bn in FY26, providing flexibility for debt reduction and reinvestment in growth opportunities. Capex is planned at USD 1.2–1.3 bn in FY26 (vs USD 1.5bn in FY25), with a balanced approach towards sustaining assets, capacity expansion, and shareholder returns.

The combined holdings of the top 10 shareholders account for around 32.09% of the company’s total outstanding shares. BlackRock Investment Management (UK) Ltd. and Capital Research Global Investors hold a maximum stake in the company at ~6.62% and ~5.60%, respectively.
