Valuation Methodology: Price/Earnings Approach (FY22E) (Illustrative)

Business Outlook

The Company had delivered outstanding business performance in FY21, with revenues and adjusted EBITDA increasing across both divisions. Furthermore, the divestment of Identity division will provide additional funds to focus on accelerated growth of the Payments division and repay outstanding debt. Meanwhile, BOKU had broadened its M1ST network during FY21 through a significant growth in existing merchants and recruiting new merchants by penetrating new geographies. Overall, the Company remained confident regarding its business performance in 2022 with increased focus on the Payments division.

Please note markets are trading in a highly volatile zone currently due to certain macro-economic and geopolitical tensions prevailing. Therefore, it is prudent to follow a cautious approach while investing.

Considering the significant operational progress, increased focus on Payments division, decent FY21 financial performance, strong strategic collaborations, and support from the valuation as done using the above method, we have given a “Speculative Buy” recommendation on Boku Inc at the closing market price of GBX 109.00 (as of 26 May 2022), with lower-double digit upside potential based on 36.58x Price/NTM Earnings (approx.) on FY22E earnings per share (approx.). The stock has not started trading as of 27 May 2022 at 09:57 AM GMT+1.
